Waterhouse Residence & Carpentry Shop Tour: Travel back to theera of Calling Cards, Corsets, and Courting Sofas with a visit to Maitland Historical Society's beautifully constructed Victorian era home. Your tour of the Historic Waterhouse Residence Museum is guided by a trained docent and will allow your class or group to see what life was like in the 1880s. Your visit is enhanced with a trip to William Waterhouse's Carpentry Shop where he kept the tools that built the Waterhouse Residence and other Maitland buildings. You'll get to see how the tools worked and find out about Mr. Waterhouse's chosen occupation.

Maitland Historical Museum and Telephone Museum Tour
Experience new and exciting facts about the past. Tour the Maitland Historical Museum. The Museum features Maitland on the Move a permanent exhibition tracing Maitland history through time. The Historical Museum also highlights different periods of Central Florida history by bringing in at least two different traveling exhibitions each year. Call the Museum to find out what exhibition is currently featured. While visiting the Historical Museum, take time to see the Maitland Telephone Museum, which showcases the developmentof the Winter Park Telephone Company and the technological growth of Maitland.

Take a tour of one or both of our museum locations.

 

Tour the Waterhouse Residence Museum as well as Mr. Waterhouse's Carpentry Shop at Lake Lily. Or, if you'd rather, explore Maitland's history and the current exhibition at the Historical Museum, plus you'll get a look into the fascinating world of telephones and technology.
