To better serve the community, the Society plans to open a new facility in 2012 at Lake Lily Park in Maitland. This plan has long been part of the Society's long range vision. The project began to take shape in the last several years with a series of public charrettes, a feasibility study, and an initial $1 million dollar donation by The Morgan Group.
A new facility will allow the Society to consolidate its holdings (currently Society staff, collections, and museums, are split into two separate locations). It will also create a unique, holistic and interactive experience for visitors, and serve as a community gathering place for local residents. This expanded space will allow the Society to offer more education programs for both children and adults, organize its exhibitions to better tell the story of Maitland, and offer the opportunity to provide shared use space for park visitors. We invite the public to share in the planning process and hope you will support this endeavor. We look forward to creating a space that "preserves heritage and inspires community."

It is with great pleasure that the Society thanks The Morgan Group for a $1 million donation to help
construct the new building. The Morgan Group has been a great supporter of the Society and this
donation is a wonderful start to our campaign.
